Quick update: The print version release of Survive and Thrive is delayed! (Sorry for that.) The book will become available on April 19 instead of April 15. It’s delayed because I did last-minute changes in the manuscript and cover design, and I underestimated the review time at Amazon.
But no worries, while you wait, I’ve still got something special for you. Last year, I recorded a video interview with Chiara, a fellow migrant professional based in Germany. She asked me a couple of questions about the book writing journey, and what inspired me to write “Survive and Thrive”. Hopefully, this will give you a taste of what you can find inside the book.
Here’s the first set of short videos:
The journey begins — how a childhood dream lead to writing Survive and Thrive
Why write the book and who is it for — what surprised me about moving to Belgium, what I discovered about my biases as an Overseas Filipino Worker and how I’m breaking down the stereotypes through the book (discover the story on why I’ve dedicated the book to current and aspiring migrants, wherever you are)
You and I know that most people spend months, sometimes years, romanticizing life and work in another country. Young people, especially, picture the opportunity, the growth, the adventure. What they don't picture is the paperwork, the loneliness of the first 90 days, or the moment they realize the move has cost far more than they planned — financially, emotionally, professionally.
It’s about time that we close the gap between expectations and reality. Survive and Thrive aims to give not just inspiration, but also practical insights and tips to make smart decisions. As Chiara said in our interview, “the best books are the ones we write for our younger selves”.
Here’s also a preview of what my early readers already said about the book.

So, if this got you more curious, you’ll be able to order Survive and Thrive via Amazon, either for yourself or as a gift to others, starting 19 April 12:00 AM GMT.
PS. Here’s another extra special gift for you if you prefer reading online and if you can’t wait for the print version. You can order the Kindle version at a discounted price of $2.99 (instead of its regular price $6.99), or if you have Kindly Unlimited, you can even read the book for free. But hurry, because the discounted price is valid between 15 to 18 April only.
